Rival Entertainment is seeking an experienced, motivated, and dynamic individual to serve as the Box Office Manager, who will be responsible for overseeing all ticketing operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing a team of box office staff, and optimizing revenue through effective sales strategies and inventory management.
THE ROLE:
As the Box Office Manager you will oversee all ticketing operations for our music venues. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure smooth ticket sales and exceptional customer service experiences for concert-goers. This role is pivotal in maintaining efficient box office procedures and contributing to the overall success of our live events and business as a whole.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage daily box office operations, including daytime box office hours, ticket sales, will-call/ guest list services, show build & maintenance and venue guest inquiries.
- Supervise box office staff including staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Coordinate with talent buyers, director of programming, third-party event promoters and production teams to establish ticketing parameters and communicate ticketing policies for each show.
- Build and maintain all confirmed, ticketed events in the venue’s established ticketing system.
- Execute any requested changes to events in a prompt and reasonable time according to established standard completion times as detailed in the Box Office Standard Operating Procedures document
- Maintain consistent and clear communication with venue talent buyers/ staff, director of programming, third-party promoters, agents/managers, etc. regarding the ticketing needs for all venue events
- Share relevant ticketing info with various venue departments at weekly events meetings, in the weekly venue event calendar and via email, as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of ticket sales, financial transactions, and attendance figures in conjunction with the business manager and accounting department. This can include music license reporting data and annual attendance data.
- Implement and maintain ticketing software systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and functional.
- Stay up to date with general ticketing platform updates or technology upgrades available and lead any upgrade or change processes.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Prepare daily & monthly reports on ticket sales, revenue, and attendance for management as outlined by the business manager and venue ownership.
- Collaborate with marketing and promotions teams to develop and execute ticketing strategies to maximize sales/attendance and to enhance customer engagement in lead up to venue visit.
- Ensure compliance with venue policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements related to ticketing operations.
- Continuously assess and improve box office procedures to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Miscellaneous additional tasks, projects, duties and responsibilities as outlined by the venue General Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in ticketing, box office management, or customer service in a live entertainment setting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and manage a team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in ticketing software (e.g., Ticketmaster) and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to manage workflow for self and direct reports ensuring timely completion of tasks and consistent, proactive communication with management and peers
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in ticketing and event management.
